AHEAD Program
The Addressing Higher Educational Access Disadvantage (AHEAD) Program aims to increase student aspiration for higher education by offering university pathway information and support.
Since 2014, AHEAD has delivered a range of educational initiatives to Year 8-12 students interested in an academic pathway. PKUC delivers the program to schools across the Pilbara and Kimberley regions.
AHEAD activities focus on building students confidence in their abilities, identifying post-school pathways, practising study skills and understanding the variety of pathways into Australia universities.
The project is federally funded through the Higher Education Participation and Partnership Program (HEPPP) and based at Curtin University. The program has 5 separate workshops targeted at students from years 8-12.
