The Pilbara Kimberley University Centres (PKUC) proudly honoured the achievements of 44 regional university students at their 2025 Graduation Celebration, held on Friday 6th of June at the Red Earth Arts Precinct in Karratha. The event brought together students, families, education partners and community members to recognise a milestone moment for learners across the North West who have completed tertiary studies without leaving their communities.

Both our Onslow and Tom Price Hubs are now open! Providing student support to existing and prospective students as well as workforce development opportunities for local businesses, the PKUC welcomes both communities to embrace greater access to higher education!

The inaugural Exploring Careers in Rural Health Event was a great success in Broome on 24th July!

The PKUC are excited to announce that we have received Federal Government funding to open up two new Study Hubs in the Shire of Ashburton in the towns of Onslow and Tom Price. This will further allow students in our remote and regional areas to better access higher education.

All WA Universities and regional study hubs came together at Curtin University last week to discuss access to tertiary education in the regions.

Fortescue, in collaboration with Curtin University and the Pilbara Kimberley University Centres, has launched a pilot program providing its First Nations employees with an opportunity to pursue higher education in engineering.

Pilbara Universities Centre recently attended the Regional Universities Centre's Conference in South Australia.

On Wednesday, 27 November 2019, the House Standing Committee on Employment, Education and Training adopted an inquiry referred by the Minister for Education, the Hon Dan Tehan MP, to inquire into and report on the education of students in remote and complex environments.

Last week the PUC completed an exciting project delivering a series of workshops to the female prisoners at Roebourne Regional Prison.
