The PKUC encourages students to explore scholarship opportunities to assist with the financial pressures of study. Below are some currently open scholarships. This list will be updated as we become aware of scholarship, please review the links for accuracy and further details.

• WA Country Health Service - Allied Health Transition to Practice Graduate Program

BHP - FUTURE OF WORK PROGRAM

Regional Education and Skills Program — Future of Work Program - eligible students to receive up to $15,000 towards their tuition fees as well as resources grant of up to $1,000. Must be commencing study in 2025, please check eligibility. Currently closed.

INDIGENOUS HEALTH SCHOLARSHIPS:

MADALAH SCHOLARSHIPS:

• MADALAH Tertiary Scholarships: Applications for tertiary scholarships commencing in 2025 are now closed. Applications will re open on Monday 6th October 2025 for the 2026 academic year.

PUBLIC SECTOR TERTIARY EDUCATION DISCOUNT:

• Study Assistance Scheme (www.wa.gov.au) As a public sector employee you can receive a 10% discount on course fees from tertiary institutions.

RURAL & REMOTE SCHOLARSHIPS:

• Bendigo Bank Indigenous Scholarship Program | Bendigo Bank - Bendigo Bank Indigenous Scholarship Program - closed 31 January 2025.
• Bendigo Bank Scholarships | Bendigo Bank - Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Uni Scholarship for rural and regional students - closed 31 January 2025.
• TAFE Scholarship program | Bendigo Bank | Bendigo Bank - Bendigo Bank TAFE Scholarship for rural and regional students - closed 31 January 2025.

RURAL HEALTH WEST SCHOLARSHIPS / FINANCIAL SUPPORT

• Student conference sponsorship application form - Rural Health West offer sponsorships to medical, nursing, midwifery, dental and allied health students from WA universities to attend events and conferences. 
• Health Workforce Scholarship Program  - Medical Recruitment & Education
  • The Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP) is an initiative of the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care, administered in Western Australia (WA) by Rural Health West. The HWSP provides scholarships and bursaries to help health professionals in rural and remote Australia retain and enhance their skills, capacity and scope of practice. the next round of funding will open in February 2025. 

SAVER PLUS PROGRAM 

• Saver Plus | Brotherhood of St. Laurence - a matched saving program where eligible participants who are able to save $500 will recieve an additional $500 towards educational expenses.

SHELL INDIGENOUS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

• Shell’s support for communities in the Kimberley and the Northern Territory | Shell Australia - Empowering Indigenous Youth through Education (10 x $10k per annum scholarships for indigenous tertiary students across the Kimberley & NT.)

TEACHING SCHOLARSHIPS:

• Commonwealth Teaching Scholarships - Department of Education, Australian Government - CURRENTLY CLOSED

WOMEN in STEM 

• Elevate: Boosting diversity in STEM - 500 undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships to women and non-binary people in STEM. Applications for 2025 funding are already closed, applications for funding for 2026 currently open

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP AND PAYMENTS

• Support for students - Department of Education, Australian Government
• Study in a regional area - Department of Education, Australian Government
• Tertiary Access Payment - Department of Education, Australian Government -The Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) is a non-indexed, means-tested payment to school-leavers from regional or remote areas who need to relocate for full-time, higher-level tertiary education (Certificate IV and above) at an education provider located at least 90 minutes by public transport from their family home.
• Commonwealth Prac Payment - Department of Education, Australian Government -The Commonwealth Prac Payment offers nursing, teaching and social work students support while they’re undertaking mandatory placements
